Pheonix and the Yokai Springs
A short story of Pheonix, a phoenix sorcerer, and her experience with the overcoming of deception, illusion, and battle with a young Yokai.
Concept Art
I wanted to make sure that my characters were consistent throughout the animation, even if they were going to have their color drained from them. Pheonix was supposed to play off of the mythical phoenix while Yokai was a simplistic design in which only black and white were used.
The Possibility for More
After I had finished the animation, I made one final drawing for the release of the video. This drawing was a simple one that showed Pheonix and Yokai together in the springs, but not at war with one another. I like to think that it implies a continuation of the story that perhaps leads to a more fulfilling outcome.
